Redesign, upgrade and update of an existing WordPress site. Theme updated, from very old version of WordPress, to version 2.8 compatibility. Complete reinstall and addition of security features removed spam links and bandwidth theft , cutting bandwidth use by about 50%.  While the site banner was retained, the main page body was given a makeover with a clean, minimal layout. Article summaries were automated using a function which looks for an excerpt and, if it doesn’t find one, makes one. Image resizing and thumbnail generation are handled using phpthumb, via the autothumb plugin. The open100 directory uses freshout’s flutter plugin to provide a template for directory entries. An alternative to flutter could be the Pods CMS plugin.
